Matt Gilbertson attends Ernie Mincy Early Thaw at Central Arizona Raceway

Matt made the trek to the Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande, Arizona for the annual Ernie Mincy Early Thaw Series events held at the Pinal County Fairgrounds to kick off 2025.

Matt's first night produced a 4th to 4th run in his heat race, followed by a 16th to 10th run in the night's main event, for his first top ten finish of the season.

Night #2 Matt ended up falling out of his heat race and did not start the night's feature race.

The third night of the first weekend saw a 5th to 5th run in his qualifying heat race, followed by a DNF in the night's feature race.

The first night of the second weekend was Matt's best night of the season with a heat race victory from the outside of the front row and then his first top five run of the year, with a fifth place run in the night's main event.

Friday night of the second weekend saw Matt race from 4th to 3rd in his heat, but he again fell out of the feature, ending his night and his weekend as he decided to head home a day early and call it a weekend.
